LMVG Laurel Mt Workday
The last Laurel Mountain Volunteer Group work day of 2018 will be on Saturday, September 29 from 10AM to 4PM.
We will be meeting at the Laurel Mountain Warming Hut, located off of Laurel Summit Road, (approximately 2.5 miles from Route 30). For directions to the meeting location please click the map on the Laurel Mountain ski area page
Please be advised that a portion of Linn Run Road is closed due to a flood event that washed away the road. You will NOT be able to access the laurel mountain warming hut from the bottom of Linn Run Road. The best way to get to the warming hut is by taking Route 30 and then Laurel Summit Road. You may also access the warming hut by driving Hickory Flats Road.
Please come prepared for the work day by bringing along gloves, eye protection, water, and snacks and be sure to wear sturdy boots/shoes and to also wear long pants/long sleeves. Water, Gatorade, and granola bars will be provided at the beginning of the work day.
Projects for the work day are subject to change, but will include brushing back trail, reblazing, rearmoring wet sections of trail, and much more. After we have finished working, you are invited to stay for the annual volunteer appreciation picnic at the Laurel Mountain Warming Hut - where there will be hamburgers, hotdogs, and all of your favorite picnic fixings! We will also be raffling off prizes from our partners at REI.
